8. Indigenous Peoples' Food Sovereignty


The production, distribution and consumption of food is highly relevant with culture. These processes involve in the interaction with environment, the identity to place, the way a society is organized, and the connection between body senses and meaning systems. Therefore, for indigenous peoples, food sovereignty which refers to the control over the production, distribution and consumption of food is not just a political or economic issue, but also the core of cultural practice. Aiming to enrich the dialogue surrounding the issue of indigenous food sovereignty, this panel welcome community practitioners, NGO workers and academic researchers to submit your papers to reveal the practical experiences, bring in the theoretical discussions, or command on the policies in various scales. With the contributions from the panelists, this panel hopes to share experiences, deepen discourses, and extends the network for further social practices.


原住民族的食物主權

食物的生產、分配消費、處理、食用,都和文化有密切的關係,它們涉及與環境的互動、對地方的認同,也涉及社會組織的方式、身體感官與象徵意義的結合,因此,對原住民族來說,食物主權(也就是掌控食物生產、分配消費、處理、食用過程之權力)除了具有政治、經濟的意涵,更是文化實踐的關鍵。為累積相關研究與社會實踐案例、促成多方的對話,本子題歡迎關於原住民族食物主權之實踐經驗的分享、對食物主權之認識論與方法論的探討,以及政策制度的評析,希冀以本此會議子題作為平台,交換經驗、深化論述,並連結進一步實踐的可能。
